Draft resolution on the Right of the Palestinian people to self-determination

The European Union voted for this resolution that took no notice of Palestinian-induced impediments to their self-determination. In an explanation of vote the United Kingdom, speaking on behalf of the EU, nicely asked those rational fellows who belong to Hamas "to recognize Israel's right to exist" and to please "disarm." Perhaps the UN bookstore should add the Hamas Charter to its list of Israel-bashing volumes. EU diplomats need a short lesson in Hamas 101. The Hamas Charter: "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it...Initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences, are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement...There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad."
