Resolution adopted by the General Assembly on December 8, 2005, by a vote of 158 for, 6 against, and 7 abstentions.

If only the state sponsors of terrorism, starting with Syria, would take the Geneva Conventions seriously - but there has never been a single UN General Assembly resolution on Syria.
